Ce le vie

This past week was fun filled! We spent the past week visiting friends & family in Illinois. We spent Monday with my dad and then dinner with Eddie and Lauren, Tuesday afternoon was a wonderful lunch with Oma, Aunt Colleen, Uncle Karsten, Adam, Lilly Jane, and my mom and then dinner with my parents (Patio... YUMMERS!). Wednesday morning we headed to Gibson City to spend time with Brian's family it was so wonderful to see all of our nieces and nephews as well as all of the siblings! Although things were a little rough Friday night it was a great trip and wonderful visit. We drove home Saturday and were so glad to be back in warm weather and not freezing in Illinois.

The unfortunate part of this was that Sunday we spent the day VERY VERY VERY sick. Brian and I are both glad to be feeling better today and look forward to being even better tomorrow. The week ahead looks like it will be fun filled with cleaning the house (due to sickness), spending some one-on-one time with hubby (maybe we will do a puzzle), maybe doing some crafts, and helping Brian with the process of getting ready to moonlight in Georgia.

We are looking forward to the months ahead and visiting with family more. My parents will be visiting in just under a month, March will probably involve a trip home for me to plan Brian's birthday, April will include a visit to North Carolina for my Great Aunt Joan's 80th birthday, and in May Brian's family will be here to visit! :D

Great things to look forward too! :)

Things are going well!!

This week has been an interesting one, yet very very busy! I have been able to cook some new recipes, create some crafts, and have dinner cooked for me by my dear hubby! :)

1. New recipes:
- Mini Chicken Pot Pies (two different ways)
- Stuffed Cabbage Rolls
- Drunken Pork Chops
- Home made chicken cream soup

2. CRAFTS!! :
- Sharpie Decorated Plate
- Sea Glass Candlestick Holders
- T-shirt Quilt

3. Hubby Dinner:
- Pulled Pork on Rye Bread
- Bacon Ranch Pea Salad
- Tator Tots!

It has been an amazing first two weeks of the new year and I feel as though I am off to a great start. I need to work out this week still and it has been tough without the reminder of Brian cooking next week (since we will be in IL next week).

I am looking forward to doing more crafts today since I have finished the few errands I had: mailing a book I sold on Amazon to the person who bought it in Cali. & dropping off things at Good Will.

On a side note I LOVE going through my closet and dresser to remove cloths I have outgrown (maturity & size) and things I just don't wear anymore! LOVE IT!

I can't wait to see the family on Monday!! YAY!!! :D

How I plan to make this new year GREAT!

This is hopefully going to be a new and exciting year and I hope to make it that way...

My plans for this year include the following along with how I plan to accomplish them:

1. I hope to loose some weight & get in shape...

-- I plan to accomplish this by working out 3 times a week for 25 min. My motivator will be... that if I work out 3 times a week Brian will cook one day a week!

2. I hope to help our family budget better...

-- I plan to accomplish this by keeping detailed lists of what we purchase,  sticking to a grocery budget, and possibly canceling cable (depending on the penalty for such...)

3. I hope to start crafting more...

-- I plan to do this by completing at least 2 crafts I had previously planned or found on pinterest

4. I hope to throw Brian a WONDERFUL 30th Birthday Party

-- I plan to do this by enlisting the help of my sister-in-laws, family, and friends.

5. I hope to spend extra time working on my relationship with my husband.

-- I plan to do this by talking things out with my husband, being open & honest, and ALWAYS making our relationship a priority.

6. I hope to commit to my blog and write more.

-- I plan to do this by setting a goal of writing at least once a week so that family and friends can keep up to date on our lives as we are living so far away still...

I feel like I am forgetting one or two of my "New Years Resolution" or plans for a new year, but I will add them later... I think with all of this that this year will be a wonderful experience!
