Organization...

Today I was able to get organization done in my life! I was able to get all my phone calls done that I have been neglecting, pick up the house, organize my next months meals (yes, we are still NOT going grocery shopping!), update our finances, and made a new pinterest board. This board is to help me organize better and put all of my monthly information in one place so I can access it better: Here It Is!

Now I am on a hunt to figure out Christmas presents for everyone (especially the nieces & nephews!) I am thinking about a hand made Christmas this year! I am super excited that I will have the opportunity to spend the holidays with my family as well as Brian's back in Illinois! :)

Tomorrow is also the trip to the Scholastic Book Fair where I hope to get lots of books as Christmas presents as well! WOOT WOOT!! I love it!

**Highlight of today... talking to my Danielle-RD! WOOT!**

Impromptu Picnic!

Hubby decided today (Saturday afternoon) that he wants to throw a Memorial Day cook-out on Monday afternoon. In addition he wants to invite a bunch of doctors, nurses, and PAs from the hospital. After suggesting this he says to me, "Can we do this? I know we are on a budget, so its okay if we can't swing it." As some of you can imagine there was a little sadness at the end of that. I sat there and thought for a moment and said, sure we can do it! I thought about some of my saved up meats (2 packages of brats, package of hot dogs) and the leftover frozen burger patties that his parents just bestowed on us as part of their vacation leftovers. In addition to all this I have buns in the freezer ready to be thawed, chili, and assorted veggies.

I can easily make some baked goods, snacks, appetizers, and dinner. The only  caveats would be that I need to clean, get out my patriotic decorations (which is past due), and start cooking. We have established a menu, a rough invite list, and have an established time.

I am so happy and thrilled that we have prepared enough of our stockpile to be able to throw this little cook-out. Also, Brian and I will be able to stick to our original agreement to not grocery shop for two months. We will go grocery shopping in the beginning of July just in time for another cook-out and hopefully for our nephew to come visit.

WOO HOO!!

Oops! I forgot!

Today our baby girl, Bella Bee, graduated from puppy school! We are so very proud of her!

Deployment on the horizon...

The more time that passes the more real it becomes. Hubby will be deploying in September and will be gone for approximately 7.5 months. I know... I know... to some of you that doesn't seem like very long and I shouldn't complain. I mean, he could be gone for 12 months or 18 months like so many other soldiers and I should consider myself lucky. I challenge those of you whose spouses are not in the military... think about your husband being gone that long. Really think about it... could you do it? Isn't so easy now is it?!

Anyways, I have recently found out that the place my husband will be going is considered one of the most dangerous bases in that country (Sorry for the vagueness, but I am trying to be extra OPSEC careful!). Ugh! Just what I wanted to hear!!

Well, I am going to try to concentrate on the positives I have 3.5 months left with my husband before he leaves. Though some of that time will be used up by the various trainings he must attend, I am grateful to have those months with him. We will be able to celebrate his 30th birthday together and he will have the opportunity to see friends and family before deploying!

Many have asked, "What on Earth will you do while he's gone?!" Well, I will be looking for a new job, loving our pups, working on crafts and other endeavors, and visiting family as much as possible to help me get through.

Whew! A full nest!

The past few days our home of two had become much larger by more then tripling! We had seven people (including ourselves) plus three dogs in our home for a few days while some of hubby's family was visiting. Before everyone arrived I marveled at the fact that my home was so clean and it had somehow become a youth hostel. Suddenly we had bead and beading everywhere! Soon the beds were all full and I was struggling through cooking for seven people and trying to accommodate everyone and make everyone happy. Though I was told I did not need to make anything special I really felt that it was important to put my best foot forward and try to make as many people happy as possible.

Though there were a few rough patches and it is always an adjustment having so many people in our house, it was a wonderful visit. I am mixed in my emotions now that it is over. I am sad that they are gone and it seemed so short. I feel as though I missed out on really being able to talk. On the other side I am glad to get my home back, glad to sleep in, and looking forward to our next visit.

In other news... our puppy is growing like a weed and is now heavier then Delilah. (Though some of that may have to do with her eating every other dog's food...grr....)! She is doing much better on house training and will complete puppy school this Friday and will hopefully do much better then last week. (She acted out and was very vocal...ugh!)

Well, I am back to doing laundry! FUN FUN!

So much to say...

I have been neglecting my writing and I have accumulated so much to say that I think I may have forgotten most of it.

Last I blogged I discussed our most recent trip to Illinois that was a lot of fun, but somewhat stressful. Since we returned Brian has eye surgery and is now a glasses free man! It was a long week of the initial recovery. He had a lot of pain on and off, couldn't see really well, and needed to be driven around. All in all it was great for him to be home and I loved taking care of him and trying to help him as much as possible.

The first week back I was able to get back to the dentist and get my occlusal guard and have been using it since. I am hoping that this will help my jaw from popping and hurting so much. I also went to the Neurologist for a follow-up to see how botox was working for me. All in all a pointless trip, but I did get my next appointment set up. Check out my other blog  for more details!

This past weekend we had the pleasure of celebrating mother's day with my mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandfather-in-law, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law. They are on their vacation and decided to take it in Edisto Beach, SC where we were able to visit for Sunday and Monday. We absolutely loved the beach, the sunshine, and of course the shells!

We loved the sunshine and were happy to take this little break from Georgia, but were happy to get home to our pups!

Since returning home, Brian had a eye appointment to remove the contact bandages, which was some what painful. Following that we were able to do our monthly shopping. Unfortunately we spend more then anticipated, but after analyzing our food (I organized the pantry and freezers this week) we have decided to push it to two months with the exception of farmer's market veggies/fruits, milk, and eggs. I hope we can do it and we both really think we can do it! WOO HOO!!

Yesterday Brian went to work for the first time since surgery and for the most part it went well. The only issues being the general stupidity of some people he works with and interacted with. Ugh... so annoying! I also went into work... for the last time. It was suggested by both parties that the position was not the right place for me. As it turns out I was not doing the job stated in the job description and some things were taking place that made me uncomfortable. All in all I am happy to have gotten my concerns/point across and hope that things will change for the good of this company.

Today has begun the cleaning spree. This is a mixture of spring cleaning and cleaning for the company that is coming on Sunday (Brian's family as stated above). Though cleaning is one of my least favorite things I am happy to get it done and feel inspired while doing it (well... parts of it...). Tomorrow and Saturday I will continue to clean and hopefully even get some crafts done that I've been wanting to do.

Sunday Brian and I will meet his family in Hilton Head and go zip-lining. I am nervous and hope that I can suck up the courage to do it! Then Brian's family will be here until Wednesday afternoon. The big question being... what to do? I fore see... a trolly trip, swimming pool, Tybee Island, and hopefully relaxing as well.

I suppose that is all for now... hopefully I will remember more later! Please leave comments!

Vacation? I think NOT!

Why is it that I always have such big plans to relax and catch up on magazines when I go home? What really happens you may ask?

See EVERYONE! Run around... do everything you miss from home... catch whatever is going around the nieces and nephews... get cruddy sleep because I miss MY bed... and try to keep the pups on their BEST BEST BEST behavior!

UGH! Then the best part... drive the 14 hours home and on top of it LOOSE an hour!

You know what? It was 100% worth it! I love have the opportunity to see my brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, parents, and everyone else I can find! I simply love seeing family, enjoying some YUMMY Chicago food, and catching up on all the family information (or drama as it is sometimes...).

In other news... I am feeling like I may not have a job for very much longer. I am not doing the position I was hired for, the employees I work with are rude & don't do their job, and they are break HIPAA left and right! I am sick of it!

I just want to find a teaching job where I can be appreciated, help students, and enjoy that life! DARN IT!!
